Welcome

to Nilreim, Chire's collective domain. The minimal, untitled and obscenely purple layout you are currently viewing is version one. If it is too purple for your tastes, then it is encouraged that you scroll to the Network header and exit to any one, or more, site marked as being (semi-)active. Another viable alternative is to locate the Links Out header and visit, perhaps all, but certainly any site(s) that catch your interest. Otherwise, please enjoy your stay; feel free to scroll through this endless page to your heart's content~

Recent, Collectivewide, Updates

Thursday, September 17, 2009 - Links out, I has them.
Thursday, September 10, 2009 - I got Nilreim up one day after I bought the domain and hosting; go me! Yes, this is it for Nilreim's first update and yes this will be one long page.

Nilreim

Here are some brief and important notes on Nilreim for those of you who do not want to read for it.

Nilreim is the name: Nilreim.Net is fine too.
Nilreim is not a word: It is a butchering of one of my favorite Ragnarok Online maps, Niflheim, that was first used to name my magically inclined ninja. Yes, a magic using ninja.
Nilreim is owned by Chire: Other aliases include Arisu, Shirarin and that one.
This domain was bought on September 09, 2009 (09-09-09): It is registered with Go Daddy and bought for either seven or nine dollars; I can't remember. I blame the date.
This domain is hosted by the wonderful Brianna at Falene: You should definitely click this link if you need free or paid hosting.
This layout is version one: It has no contrast.

Now, here is Nilreim's history in the mandatory, extended and disruptive third person point of view.

After five years of web design and three years of mostly bumming it on free servers and others' domains, Chire decided she wanted a domain. So, she started hunting around for good deals and ended up buying a domain from Go Daddy for $8.99 and a really nice hosting package from Falene for $5 on September 09, 2009.

Having found that capricious, capriccio and biochemical.com/.net/.org were taken, Chire was at a loss for a reasonable domain name. She began to shuffle through the names of her original and MMO (massive multiplayer online) character names and, upon seeing it, immediately decided on Nilreim. Nilreim is a butchering of Niflheim, one of Chire's two favorite Ragnarok Online maps. At the time, Chire needed a name for the ninja mage she wanted to make. In attempt to solve the problem, she typed Niflheim into Notepad and begin to add and subtract letters. Nilreim popped up and she's been using it for her ninja, and now domain, since. Note that Nilreim is enunciated nil-rem; the i is silent. Simple, am I right?

Nilreim itself is a collective that hostes all of Chire's smaller sites; her blog, graphic and art site are hosted at The Dream Box, Awardspace and Clockworked respectively.

Chire

I, Chire but also known as Arisu, Shirarin, that one and hey you, am an eighteen year old freshman attending North Carolina State University with plans to major in Computer Engineering and possibly double major in Electrical Engineering. I am female and have been aiding the Earth to it's death since August 30, 1991.

I love bunnies, kitties and penguins and enjoy apples, watermelons, barbecue buns, cheese and pretty much every other food in existence minus large shrimp. I prefer a sunny autumn day to anything else and listen to the background music of my favorite games, those being MMOs or STGs. I draw, read, write, study, eat, sleep, order random and cheap steampunkeque or Victorian things from Etsy and web design, inter alia, to entertain myself; I get extremely bored extremely easily. I hate excessively rude people, excessively noisy people and excessively obnoxious people. All in all, it would be quite reasonable to say that I hate most people. Obviously, I hate crowds as well as pointless a.k.a. most college parties and am more than happy to say that I hate my best friend's guts.

The said friend has determined that I am an UBER NERD in the making and proclaimed that my worst trait is my stubbornness and that others mistakenly settle on my hermit-like tendancies or rudeness. I am not a hermit but a person who does not to talk the majority of the time when in the company of others, save for a select few, and the fact that I will not hesitate to say that something, be it an essay or idea, is absolute crap when no one else will is hardly rude. A break from the norm is that, upon observing my reluctance to party and drink until I feel like shit, one of my suitemates has discreetly shouted that I am "goddamned weird."
